TOWARDS LIBERATION

Towards Liberation is a guide for those of us committed to individual and collective liberation. It draws from wisdom from people who have established liberatory communities and from our non-human kin.

In the guide you will find five critical characteristics of two distinct cultures. These cultures, the Culture of Liberation and the Culture of Dominance, differ in their ways of being, thinking, feeling, and acting. Within the United States, the Culture of Dominance is pervasive. We encourage teams and individuals to release the hold this culture has on us. We share the Culture of Liberation to nurture and rebuild ourselves and our communities.

4-PART ONLINE WORKSHOP SERIES

REGENERATING LIBERATION

This online workshop series will guide participants through the phases of awareness, analysis & acknowledgement, and action & incorporation as we understand our current practices that align with the Culture of Dominance, and then regenerate our personal Culture of Liberation.

Join our first cohort of leaders!

We stand at the crossroads of possibility. As oppressive forces tighten their grip on our lives and imagination, a growing number of people are willing to take individual and collective action to counter this rising tide. We are excited to offer a four-part online workshop series to help leaders unpack, learn, and heal from the Culture of Dominance, a culture that severs our connection to our histories, ourselves, other people, and the natural environment.

These sessions will be a springboard for your ongoing practice of transformative liberation. We encourage you to join us in our first cohort of leaders by completing the pre-registration form below!

OUR Approach

Facilitators will support you to practice embodiment and connection to the natural environment to engage in honest conversations that stretch us all. As a participant, you will collaborate to create an environment that is empathetic, open, and courageous. The workshops are anchored using a lens of power, anticolonial and fluid ways of thinking; moving away from “perfectionism and control” to one of “acknowledgment and working-with” our individual values and context.

REGISTRATION

We are hosting two affinity spaces, one for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) and a white affinity cohort to provide a learning environment for participants to fully share. The costs of the workshop series is on a sliding scale fee.

Join a cohort by completing the appropriate pre-registration form below.

TESTIMONIALS

"Towards Liberation doesn't shame, blame, or insist on a binary right or wrong perspective. This guide incorporates indigenous wisdom and an embodied appraoch as pathways for change"

— Leah Graniela Loving, Founding Director, Sembrando Lab LLC

“Towards Liberation puts into words and action what I have felt missing and needed in my leadership. Specifically, paying attention to what feels joyful and what creates discomfort in my body has been key for me in making strides toward working well and productively across hierarchies.”

— Kim Ondreck Carim, Chief Financial Officer, Oakland Museum of California
